New Stuff!
My most recent Etsy endeavor? Plush animals!

It all started about a week ago when I wanted a cute plush penguin but wasn't able to find something that I liked or could afford. After getting pretty annoyed and angry, I decided to go ahead and make my own - how hard could it be??



Here's how my penguin turned out:

After seeing my penguin plushie, my younger sister, Mother, and Tom all told me I should start making these things and listing them on Etsy...so I tried making a cat:

I love LOVE the penguin!!! It's so damn adorable! Do you think you could make an elephant for Thayne? I love the heffalumps from Winnie the Pooh...how much you want for it??

Ooooh, an elephant. First, tell me what color and how big you'd like it and what material (I suggest fleece!). Second, let's see if I'm even capable of making one, lol.

It's possible that I might be getting to the store to pick up fabric this coming weekend *fingers crossed*.

Happy you like the penguin! I'd love to start making and selling these guys a bunch more, but sadly there is some craaazy crappy law going into effect that will prevent small business people from making toys for children under the age of 12. It really, really sucks.
I should make a post about that - especially since almost nobody has even heard about it.

Dave thinks about the size of the penguin. Fleece sounds great! I know you can do it!!!! Who says only kids will get these? And I'm his parent, I know you and I know you aren't gonna put any crazy, druggy stuff or anything that could hurt him in there. *sigh* Some stupid people ruined it for the rest of the world...

And those stupid people happen to be the Chinese companies who paint their toys with lead. Oh, and WalMart and other stores that BUY those to sell to American children.

It's messed up. I have a feeling the lawmakers did not intend to hurt small business owners and I sure hope they fix it.
